These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Movie Cave mobile application and related services (the “Service”) operated by the individual developer behind Movie Cave (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Movie Cave helps users discover movies and TV shows, maintain watchlists and watch history, rate and review titles, follow TV shows for release-related notifications, and receive personalized recommendations. Features may change over time.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account
You must be old enough to use the Service under applicable law and not prohibited from using it
Email/password accounts may require email verification before sign-in
Social sign-in options such as Google or Apple may be offered where supported on your device

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service unlawfully or to harass, abuse, or harm others
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through automated abuse or excessive requests
Upload or publish content that is illegal, infringing, or otherwise objectionable
Reverse engineer or misuse the Service except where permitted by law

5. User-generated content

Reviews and other content you submit may be stored and displayed in connection with your account and the Service. You are responsible for the content you submit. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or other users.

6. Third-party content and services

Movie and TV metadata, images, cast information, availability data, and related catalog content may be provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, app stores, streaming providers, or external services linked from the Service.

TMDB attribution

This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

7. Recommendations and notifications

Recommendations, insights, release alerts, and similar features are provided for convenience and personal use. They may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. You should not rely on them as the sole basis for decisions. AI-generated suggestions are automated and may not reflect real-world availability or your preferences perfectly.

8. Service availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, branding, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party trademarks, artwork, and metadata remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Termination and account deletion

You may delete your account at any time using the in-app flow described on our Delete account page. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, IF ANY.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
